Aston Villa striker Darren Bent was delighted for Tottenham fullback Kyle Walker over his winning England debut.

The Spurs right-back won the TV Man of the Match award on his full senior debut against Sweden on Tuesday.

And Aston Villa striker Bent, who played alongside the emerging talent during Walker's loan spell at Villa last season said: "He took to it and has a lot of pace.

"He is a modern day right-back and I'm sure it will be a great tussle between him, Micah Richards and Glen Johnson for the right-back spot. Knowing Kyle, he won't give up the fight."
