Villa striker Agbonlahor delighted Albrighton back in form

Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor is delighted for Marc Albrighton over his return to form.

He enjoyed a loan spell at Wigan earlier this term before being called back by Paul Lambert, who was impressed with his Latics contribution.

Since then, Albrighton has been back in the fold either as starter or sub.

Agbonlahor is thrilled to see him available again.

He told Villa's website: "Marc has had a rough few years with injuries. It felt like one problem after another for him. It's not been great for him at all.

"I've had injuries - like anyone else - but never so many in a row. It must have been terrible to go through.

"But he is very strong mentally. He's had what it takes to get through it. His family have probably helped greatly too. He's kept upbeat but it must have been very difficult at times.

"Just to see him training now is fantastic. He always has a smile on his face and that's great. It's not surprising because all you want to do when you're out is play football.

"You can just tell from the way he is about the place that he's really happy about being involved with the first team again.

"He's never lost his quality. He's just not been able to show it over the past few years because of his fitness issues."
