Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor is convinced of the quality of youngster Jordan Bowery.

The £500,000 signing from Chesterfield has managed just two starts this season.

"He's a big strong player and is like a hold-up player. He's got a yard of pace as well. I think, for him, it's new to him. He needs to get used to the tempo of the Premier League," Agbonlahor told the Express & Star.

"Jordan is learning every day and the boys have noticed in training that he's getting better. I reckon he will become a really good player. The coaching staff will help him and help him improve.

"For him, it's going to be tough to get that central striker role. It's good for him to get some time on the pitch and get some experience of the Premier League."
