Villa striker Agbonlahor admits hamstring worry

Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor admits he's suffered hamstring trouble in their 3-3 draw with Manchester City.

Agbonlahor confirmed: "There is something wrong with my hamstring. I don't know what it is. We'll have to wait and see the results of a scan.

"I got the ball and pulled up and came off as a precaution. I don't know how long I'll be out for.

"It felt pretty sore during the game but I came off when I did because I didn't want to make it worse."

Villa boss Martin O'Neill revealed Agbonlahor had defied a virus to play before his hamstring blow.

He said: "Gabby played against Everton after not training for the two days before the game. He had not been feeling great.

"But we always knew he wanted to come out and play and this is one of the big things about him and Ashley Young and a number of the other lads - they want to play.

"When Gabby came off, his hamstring was sore. Everything was wrong with him in terms of not being physically fit for the game but he still did great. That is the kind of character he is."
