Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar was delighted with their thumping win over Norwich City.
Villa now have a healthy 31 points and lie in 11th position - seven points above the bottom three and eight points off ninth.
Vlaar says that the team will show focus and desire as they hunt more wins.
He told Villa's website: "We really needed it - for ourselves and everyone who loves Aston Villa.
"It was a massive win for us. The tally of 31 points, psychologically, is a boost now of course.
"They beat Tottenham so they were in a good place heading into this game. But we stopped them and gave ourselves some space [in the table].
"We will still need a lot more points but it's a good start with 10 games to go.
"It was a good win. It was great that the chances we had in the first half created goals."
