Villa skipper Petrov pleads with boo-boys to lay off Eck

Aston Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov has urged fans to get behind manager Alex McLeish.

Villa are perilously close to the drop zone following a run of just two league wins in their past nine games.

Petrov believes McLeish has the backing of the players. Petrov said: “He is strong. He will never give up. He will keep fighting and keep driving us forward. We believe in him.”
