Aston Villa skipper Stiliyan Petrov has described teammate Stewart Downing as "sensational".
Downing created both of Villa's goals in their 2-2 draw with FA Cup opponents Crystal Palace.
Petrov told AVTV: "You need to prove yourself in every single game. This boy has been doing it.
"He's been out a while. It was hard for him. He moved to a new club and couldn't wait to get out there and show the fans what he could do but he had to wait because of his injury.
"Now he's doing it - and he's doing it great.
"He's been sensational for this club. He had a bad injury - which I caused. I gave him a call a few days after the incident happened and I'm glad he's now back and fit.
"He's worked really hard and he has a real great attitude. When you have players like that, it's a great benefit for the club."
