Tottenham looked to have missed out on Spain striker David Villa. The Barcelona star is set to join Atletico Madrid, with the two La Liga sides agreeing a £4.4m deal.
Spurs were widely-reported to be close to landing the 31 year old, with whom they were believed to have already agreed personal terms.
