Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish has confirmed he is poised to sign Shamrock Rovers starlet Enda Stevens. The 21-year-old defender, who can play left-back or centre-half, is set to join Villa on a three-year deal.
But the Irish U21 international will not move until January, so he will be able to feature for Shamrock in their maiden Europa League group stage campaign.
"We've been watching Enda and have been very impressed with his exploits in the League of Ireland and in Europe," said McLeish.
"He's a young prospect, a boy with bags of potential and we're excited about doing a deal which benefits us and Shamrock."
