Kazim Kazim is being lined up to be Gerard Houllier's first signing as Aston Villa manager.
Kazim Kazim - formerly Colin Kazim Richards before changing his name after moving to his father's homeland in 2007 - has fallen out of favour at Fenerbahce after finishing last season on loan at Toulouse.
And with Villa boss Houllier seeking extra firepower the Frenchman is ready to make a cut-price £2million bid for a player in the last year of his current contract.
Kazim was famously known as the Coca Cola Kid after the London-born former Arsenal trainee was signed by Brighton from Bury for £250,000 with a cash windfall from the soft drinks giant in 2005, moved to Istanbul after a short-lived spell at Sheffield United.
Houllier, aware of Kazim Kazim's contract position, had scouts watching the 24-year-old in last week's game at Eskispor.
And after his public fall-out with John Carew and amid suggestions that Ashley Young could be on the move in the transfer window, Kazim could be Houllier's first Villa Park signing.
