Aston Villa had scouts in the stands for Auxerre's Coupe Gambardella tie with Strasbourg on the weekend.
The Coupe Gambardella is France's national U19 Cup competition.
Foot Mercato says Villa representatives were in attendance for Auxerre's 1-0 win.
High on the agenda for the Villans were 18 year-old striker François-Xavier Tamuzo and 17 year-old midfielder Samed Kilic.
Tamuzo proved the matchwinner on the day.
