Villa's Weimann takes solace in Chelsea fight back

Aston Villa striker Andreas Weimann was remaining positive after his side were beaten 4-2 by Chelsea at home on the weekend.

Villa slipped up at Villa Park to see them sit just five points above the relegation zone and in a precarious position with seven league matches remaining when the Blues came over the top of them on Saturday.

The home side managed to restore parity with two goals in quick succession after Chelsea had held a two-goal lead but they surrendered late as the Londoners added a couple more, to in the end run away comfortable winners, but Weimann was buoyed by the fight back by a young group even if the result was not what the club was after.

"We showed we can play football against Chelsea, even though we are only young players," the Austrian striker told Villa's official website.

"If we play like we played, we'll get a few more wins in.

He added: "We said after the game we're right in it now (a possible relegation battle), but we have to stick together. We'll be all right.

"You can take the positives from the game, we're a young side but we came back against Chelsea.

"It was good - but we didn't get anything from the game.

"Being 2-0 down, no-one would have thought we'd get back, but when we did it was brilliant."
