Aston Villa defender Stephen Warncok is determined to work his playing future out this summer.
The 29-year old left-back has not played in the first team since December after he was left out by Gerard Houllier and he wants to talk to new boss Alex McLeish about what his role at the club will be going forward.
Warnock has been linked with Bolton, Stoke City and Wigan Athletic but he wants to find out what lies for him at Villa before making any decisions.
"I need to sit down with the manager and see what the future holds. Hopefully we'll speak soon," he told Sky Sports News.
"Obviously last season was difficult for me. It was a tough time. Things need sorting out.
"For myself it's a tough decision because I felt last season was very tough.
"I'm at the age now where I want to play week in week out. I don't want to be sat in the reserves playing reserve team football when you feel like you're good enough to play."
