Villa's Lowry sees red as Millwall cop hammering from Birmingham

Shane Lowry was shown a straight red card today as Millwall were smashed 6-0 at home by Birmingham City in the Championship.

The Australian defender, on loan with the Lions from Aston Villa, was sent from the pitch for an off-the-ball incident with Nikola Zigic as Kenny Jackett's men were hammered in the second half by a rampant Blues outfit.

Curtis Davies had the only goal of the match against ten-men Millwall before Alan Dunne was also given his marching orders for a tackle on Zigic in the 57th minute. From there it was all Birmingham with Marlon King and Chris Burke making it 3-0 by the 74th minute.

Adam Rooney grabbed a fourth in the 81st minute before King helped himself to his second and then Nathan Redmond made it six late in the piece as Birmingham moved up to sixth and Millwall remained 21st, just above the drop zone.
