Villa's Lichaj to lengthen Leeds loan

Aston Villa defender Eric Lichaj will remain with Championship club Leeds United for the remainder of the season.

The 22-year old American right-back joined the Whites on an initial one-month loan in early February and has made seven appearances for the fifth-placed club.

He will now stay at Elland Road for the rest of the West Yorkshire club's promotion push, delighting Leeds boss Simon Grayson.

"Eric has done well since he came here. He's shown his qualities and gives us good competition in the right-back area," he said.

"We're delighted Villa have agreed to allow him to remain here until the end of the league season."
