Republic of Ireland could be boosted by the possible returns of Richard Dunne and Darron Gibson for the vital Euro2012 clash with Spain on Thursday.
Giovanni Trapattoni's men need a positive result against the reigning European champions after losing 3-1 to Croatia on Sunday and Aston Villa centre-back Dunne and Everton midfielder Gibson could give them the impetus they need.
Dunne missed the opener because of badly blistered feet whilst Gibson had a thigh problem but both players appear to be available for the Group C clash in Gdansk.
