Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is supremely confident that Christian Benteke will come through his barren scoring run.

The Belgian striker has not hit the back of the net in 10 Premier League matches following his 19 goals last season but Lambert is of the belief that he will soon arrest his run of outs and get back to his free-scoring ways.

"He will come through it," said Lambert after Sunday's 3-0 loss to Manchester United.

"His endeavour was there. He is not getting the breaks he had last year but he will go through stages like this in his career."
