Aston Villa striker Darren Bent has thanked outgoing manager Gerard Houllier for showing so much faith in him this season.
Houllier has left the club after just one season following recent health issues but on his departure, has received praise from Bent who he signed from Sunderland in January.
"It will be sad for me," Bent told the Express and Star. "He signed me, invested a lot of money in me and showed a lot of faith in me."
Bent cost Villa £24million but he repaid the faith with nine goals in 16 appearances which helped the club fight off relegation.
