Aston Villa striker Darren Bent admits it was a 'low' period when Ashley Young and Stewart Downing left the club in the summer.
Young departed for Manchester United and Downing headed to Liverpool, leaving Bent at Villa Park just six months after he arrived.
Although he was gutted to lose the pair, particularly good friend Young, he insists he did not think about it too much on the pitch.
"I had never felt so low when Ashley Young and Stewart Downing went. They were two good friends and I have known Ashley a long time," he told Express & Star.
"In that respect, I was sad. But on the pitch, I wasn't down. He is a fantastic player but you've got to move on."
