West Brom face competition from Aston Villa for Real Mallorca's Portuguese defender Nunes.

The Birmingham Mail says the Baggies have already had a bid of around £4.7million rejected by the La Liga club while Villa are also interested, according to reports in Spain.

The 31-year-old international has a release clause of 10million Euros, which is just under £8million, and Mallorca have no intention of accepting any less.

That will almost certainly put Nunes out of Albion's reach, although Villa may be in a more viable position to test Real's resolve.
