Aston Villa are ready to beat Tottenham for Espanyol goalkeeper Carlos Kameni.
The Daily Mail says Spurs looked likely to land the £5m-rated Cameroon international but Villa are tabling a rival offer.
Villa manager Martin O'Neill said he will make no decision on whether he wants to keep on-loan Liverpool goalkeeper Scott Carson permanently until the end of the season.
