Aston Villa are pushing to close a deal for Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng this week.
The Daily Express says Villa boss Paul Lambert and his team fly out to the United States for their pre-season tour on Saturday and he would ideally have the 25-year-old on board by then.
Villa's hand is strengthened by the fact Ki is out of contract in 12 months and their squad is now a midfielder down after the exit of Yacouba Sylla to Turkish side Kayseri Erciyesspor on a season-long loan yesterday.
