Aston Villa want to sign Newcastle United striker Michael Owen on a Bosman.
The Mirror says the Newcastle striker, 29, is out of contract in July and Villa want Owen to link up with new signing Emile Heskey, who used to partner him for club and country.
Villa boss Martin O'Neill hopes securing Champions League football with a top four finish will attract Owen and finance his £110,000- a-week wages.
