Christian Benteke has been urged to quit Aston Villa for the sake of his career. The big Belgian striker has been one of the few successes of Villa's awful season, bagging 12 goals since his £7million move from Genk last summer.

Now his former boss has urged him to join a bigger club - insisting he can partner Luis Suarez at Liverpool. Mario Been insisted Benteke, 22, is too good for crisis club Villa, saying: "I know for sure that Christian will step up to a higher level in England."
