Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor was delighted that the side showed up again on the weekend.
The Villans humiliated Sunderland 4-0 at the Stadium of Light to move three points clear of the relegation zone to make it two Premier League wins in a row and three triumphs on the trot in all competitions including the FA Cup quarter-final.
Agbonlahor, who shared a brace with Christian Benteke, was thrilled that Villa got the job done in what was a huge fixture for the West Midlands club.
"It was a massive win," he told the club's official website.
"The gaffer said before the game at Sunderland that it was our cup final and the boys turned up and got the result.
"We played well - I think the boys were tremendous.
"We dominated the game, pressing as soon as they kicked off to restart.
"That in itself shows the team spirit within the squad and we want to keep on going and keep fighting.
"We're doing good things. We're working hard during the week in training and taking it into the games - the boys are flying.
"We are all fighting for the club and that showed and it will continue."
