Aston Villa are moving for West Ham goalkeeper Robert Green.

The Guardian says Villa have identified West Ham United's Robert Green as a potential target as Martin O'Neill steps up his search for a new goalkeeper following Scott Carson's return to Liverpool at the end of last season.

The Villa manager, who has also been monitoring the availability of Tottenham Hotspur's Paul Robinson, is understood to have added Green's name to his short-list, with the former Norwich player likely to command a fee in the region of £6m.
