Aston Villa are planning a £5 million bid for Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell.

The Mirror says Villa boss Martin O'Neill is lining up a £5million move for Sidwell after admitting that skipper Gareth Barry may quit this summer.

Sidwell, 25, is a likely replacement as he is set to be sold for a huge profit by Chelsea after making just seven league starts since joining on a free from Reading last summer.
