Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner is ready to drop his asking price for the club.

The Mirror says Lerner wants £150 million for the claret and blues, with potential bidders waiting in the wings.

Potential buyers include American outfit the Phoenix Group plus a Qatari consortium, members of whom recently attended the Chelsea game.

Lerner's people hope a record new £5.136bn Premier League TV deal will attract interest, although it is claimed that there is no takeover deal close.
