Villa has scored just four goals in La Liga so far this season, but two of those came in last weekend's 5-0 demolition of Sevilla at the Nou Camp.
And the Spain striker, a 40million euro summer signing from Valencia, says it does not matter who scores the goals for Pep Guardiola's side.
"Barca didn't sign me for me to be the top goalscorer, but to help the team win," he said.
"If I don't score them, someone else will."
Villa, in any case, has been constantly backed by Guardiola and says he appreciates his coach's support.
"I am very happy to have his confidence and it makes me see that I am doing things well," he said.
And Villa, who has been used by Guardiola on the flanks as well as in the centre of the club's three-man forward line, says he is now fully adapted to his new role at the Catalan club.
"Be it playing on the right, in the centre or on the left, the most difficult thing to get used to has been defending on the wing, but I am clear on that now," he said.
