Aston Villa have been told it will cost them £10-12 million to land Porto fullback Jose Bosingwa.
Bosingwa is believed to be boss Martin O'Neill's No 1 target for the troublesome right-back position.
A source close to Porto told the Express & Star: "For the £5m-£6m that has been reported, Porto would not sell, no way. Perhaps if they doubled it they might consider. But it's very complicated.
"The club don't want to let him go at any price really, and it would take something silly for them to consider.
"He is too valuable a player - he has just broken into the Portuguese national squad and for many people, he is better than Paulo Ferriera."
