Aston Villa midfielder Steve Sidwell won't consider moving to Fulham until he has assurances Roy Hodgson will remain as manager.

The Cottagers have approached Aston Villa about midfielder Sidwell, 27, who has been told he can leave Villa Park this summer as boss Martin O'Neill looks to raise money for new players.

But chief Hodgson, who led Fulham to the Europa League final, is being linked with the vacant Liverpool job.

If Hodgson moves to Anfield, former Chelsea ace Sidwell will want to know who will be in charge next season.
