Aston Villa have made a formal enquiry for Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas.
The 28-year old has been frozen out at White Hart Lane and with the confirmed arrival of Scott Parker in North London, Jenas looks likely to depart.
Villa boss Alex McLeish was keen to sign Joe Cole from Liverpool but he has left England for French club Lille and now Jenas could become the focus with the Scot hoping to strengthen his midfield.
