Aston Villa legend Peter McParland is convinced Christian Benteke will prove his worth at Villa Park.

Benteke has struggled to find his radar this season.

But McParland told Villa's website: "I was impressed with Benteke. When he came on, things started to happen. He started doing things.

"He was winning header after header. Actually I'd be surprised if he didn't win every single header he jumped for. Get this fella into the pace of the game in the Barclays Premier League and I think we have a good player.

"He's excellent on the deck too, it's not all about in the air. He's sharp on the floor and superb in the air too.

"I think he'll be deadly in the air. It's vital we get him the service now. If we do, we will see dividends.

"He will be a handful for us going-forward. He will cause big danger with his quality."
