Villa kid McGurk confident of return

Aston Villa teenager Adam McGurk has been impressed by the club's new facilities.

The 18 year-old striker is recovering from knee ligament surgery and told the club's website: "All the treatment and the surgery I've had has been the best you could get and it's all gone very well.

"I've got a long-term injury, but the facilities at the new training ground are just top drawer, probably the best in England, so I've got all the best attention I could get.

"I've got to do lots of work to get back to full fitness as quickly as possible. I wouldn't be surprised if they name the new gym after me, I'm spending so much time in there!

"The new training ground has got everything I could possibly need as I work my way back. I can do a lot of pool work, because there isn't as much pressure on my joints.

"I was on crutches for two months and started walking again last month. Then hopefully next month I can start jogging again, so I'm on the mend."
