Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph was happy with his return for their win over Bolton Wanderers.

Delph revealed skipper Stiliyan Petrov spoke to him just before kick-off to offer words of encouragement.

He told Villa's website: "Stiliyan just said go out and enjoy yourself - go out and play, get on the ball and get us playing. And I certainly did enjoy it.

"We were really happy with the result. The boys were delighted.

"We put in a really good shift in the first half and overall we were happy.

"The win sums us up I think. We have come back, bounced back and played well, worked very hard and got the result."
