Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan welcomes the competition from Irish veteran Shay Given.
Given is regarded as strictly Guzan's backup.
"You're fighting for playing time but our relationship has been very good, both on and off the pitch," Guzan insisted to the Daily Mail.
"For me, I've been very fortunate to work with him for so long now, his resume speaks for itself, what he's done, not only at club level but at international level.
"It speaks volumes for him as a professional."
