Villa keeper Guzan: Some years away from my peak

Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan feels he's well away from reaching his peak.

The former Chivas USA player reckons goalkeepers do not peak until their thirties and cites compatriot and former Villa team-mate Brad Friedel as the prime example.

"Every day there is room to improve," said Guzan.

"You look at a guy like Brad Friedel. He would probably say the same, that he continues to try to get better.

"Goalkeeping is not about mastering it and now you are the best. You have to be willing to put the work in and continue to fight.

"Goalkeepers tend to peak at a later part in your career.

"Hopefully I can keep this up and continue to be called upon. If that happens then I want to do a job."
