Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan says self-belief is crucial to his game.

Guzan does not work with a sports psychologist, but is a big believer in the power of positive thinking and insists a new found confidence has helped him develop this season.

"Nah, I definitely don't work with a psychologist!" he said. "Everyone is going to make mistakes.

"There will be a time when you guys are probably canning me saying I am the worst goalkeeper out there.

"You take the good with the bad and bad with the good and continue to roll on.

"A lot of it is also confidence.

"When you can make saves and you come for crosses, that gives you confidence."
