Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given is disappointed to be ending his loan with Middlesbrough.
For Boro's 0-0 draw with Leeds United, Given earned a standing ovation from Boro fans as he paid a fond farewell after helping ensure the Teessiders haven't shipped a goal at home in the league this year.
The former Newcastle, Manchester City and Sunderland keeper admitted: "It's a wrench to leave. I'd liked to have stayed until the end of the season.
"It wasn't to be, Aston Villa want me back, so I have to go back. It's out of my hands. It looks like I won't be playing much football when I go back - that's the situation I'm in.
"Hopefully something will happen in the summer. If you look at the likes of Brad Friedel and Mark Schwarzer, they're still going strong and I'm still relatively young in goalkeeper terms at 37."
