Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given is weighing up ending his international retirement.
The Daily Mail says the FAI closed ranks on reports that Given may make a dramatic return to the Republic of Ireland set-up after a two-year absence.
Given, 38, last won the last of his 125 caps in the Euro 2012 finals.
He announced his international retirement two years ago, shortly before being frozen out at Aston Villa under Paul Lambert.
