Aston Villa keeper Shay Given has admitted: "I am gutted" at being dropped from the first team. But the experienced Republic of Ireland stopper has vowed to work hard to win his place back between the sticks after being ousted by former understudy Brad Guzan, reports the Birmingham Mail.
"Frustration can sometimes boil over if you're not playing, but for me it's important that I keep my head down and work hard every day," said Given.
"I am gutted that I am not playing in the team, that's natural, and hopefully if I work hard I'll get back in the team. He (Paul Lambert) is not scared to leave people out including me."
