Shay Given has been given the green light to play for Republic of Ireland in their Euro2012 opener against Croatia in Poznan on Sunday.
The Aston Villa goalkeeper had been struggling with a knee injury leading up to the start of the tournament but has been given the go-ahead according to goalkeeping coach Alan Kelly.
"Once you get a little niggle with a knee, you get compensatory issues. But anyone who saw the game he played the other night wouldn't question his fitness, form or how sharp he is.
"He's busting to get back to training.""He's fine. I don't think wild horses could keep him off that pitch on Sunday," Kelly said.
