Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given is hoping Richard Dunne can return from injury before season's end.

The defender is desperate to return in order to be fit for the Republic of Ireland's Euros campaign.

"He's been in and out of the training ground on the odd day, but there's not much he can do to be honest and the minute because of the sling, so I'm sure he's tearing his hair out at home," Given told Villa's website.

"Hopefully we can get him back fit before the end of the season, because ideally you want him playing a few games before the summer, with such a big summer coming up.

"I think it would be brilliant if he could get for Aston Villa and play towards the end of the season and that would stand him in good stead for the summer."
