Friedel's every touch was booed by the Burnley faithful - as they delivered their verdict on his long spell at rivals Blackburn.
The experienced stopper said it didn't affect him in the slightest in the 1-1 draw.
Friedel told Villa's website: "The barracking didn't affect me. I am too old for all that. I actually enjoy playing in atmospheres like that.
"It wasn't too hostile to be fair. A lot of people said hello when I arrived, had a go at me during the game and then said goodbye afterwards. So it's OK."
