Aston Villa goalkeeper Scott Carson accepts his red card suffered against Manchester United in Saturday's 4-1 defeat.

Carson told Villa's website: "I think at 3-1 down with only ten men, I think it is a bit harsh but if it was 0-0, then fair enough. I also think Isaiah Osbourne got back as well and was the last man but I'll take it on the chin.

"I thought we were still in the game at 3-1 and had a chance of nicking a couple of goals. We were still causing them a few problems.

"It is my first sending-off - it is not nice walking off. We were chasing the game trying to get two goals and there was no point just sitting back and defending so I'm not going to blame anyone."
