Aston Villa are ready to open new contract talks with midfielder Stiliyan Petrov.

Last week, winger Ashley Young signed up for four more years.

Strikers Gabriel Agbonlahor and John Carew, midfielders Craig Gardner and Isaiah Osbourne and left-back Wilfred Bouma have also signed new deals this season.

Petrov is next on O'Neill's list after a superb start to the season in a new more defensive role.
