Villa hero Weimann hopes goal enough to earn first start

Aston Villa striker Andreas Weimann hopes his winner against Fulham will earn him a first Premier League start.

Weimann came off the bench to swoop late on for the 1-0 win.

"It's brilliant for myself but I think for the team it's unbelievable because we have not won for a long time at home at Villa Park," he told Sky Sports.

"You can see the fans' reaction too when I scored so I'm a happy man at present.

"I have been waiting for a long time but now I've got my chance, I've scored my goal and hopefully I will get more chances between now and the end of the season.

"I think it's good for the youth team because there are so many players from the youth squad coming up and this is encouragement that they can get there."
