Aston Villa hero Tony Morley believes the time is right to cash in on Ashley Young.
Former League and European Cup-winning hero Morley believes the time has come to sell Young for big money and reinvest the proceeds in the squad.
"I think the writing was on the wall when they offered him that bumper pay deal and he didn't accept it," Morley told the Sunday Mercury.
"To be fair, that obviously made it clear he wants a fresh challenge because if he didn't he would have signed the contract.
"They offered to make him the best paid player in the club's history and he's turned it down, so that to me says he's looking for something else.
"I can understand him wanting to win things, but Villa gave him his big chance. At the end of the day if Villa can get £18-20 million for him then I honestly think they should sell him and use the money to strengthen the squad."
