Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is lining up a bid for Reading striker Kevin Doyle.
O'Neill tried to sign Doyle from Reading last year, but with the Royals now relegated is ready to return with a £4million offer for the Republic of Ireland striker.
O'Neill wants to add about six players to what is one of the smallest Premier League squads.
