Villa go back to West Ham for £6M Ferdinand

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is moving for West Ham defender Anton Ferdinand.

The Sun says O'Neill is preparing another raid on West Ham by planning a £6million bid for Ferdinand.

Aston Villa boss O'Neill signed Marlon Harewood and Nigel Reo-Coker last year.

And the Hammers are ready to listen to offers for Ferdinand.

O'Neill is desperate for a centre-back. He said: "We have got targets in mind and we want to do business as promptly as we can.

"But the people we want are key players at other clubs and it might be difficult."
